Hey there just wanted to say good luck in your decision and I really appreciate the time and care you're taking, by the sounds of it it's going to be tough! Can't wait to hear about the winner - best of luck to all finalists, I know whoever gets it will be most deserving. Because of the time difference for me you're probably going to announce it during the middle of the night for me....so i'll wait up until i hear!

I just wanted to say thank you for taking the scholarship decision so seriously. I know you must have been thinking "What have I gotten myself into? How am I supposed to choose?" It might be tough to sit here and wait for a decision, but I bet it's even tougher making it.

heh, I didn't know they even sold Red Bull on BYU's campus...mak'n some late night (or morning) stops i see, but anyways, good luck on everything, I hope all goes well!

You guys are truly amazing. I had a dream about this and there was a mistake and the names kept changing hahaha. Take ur time--if you need another day- people will wait :p

Good luck to you guys that are deciding. I hope that no matter what, everyone that was a finalist, or even if you weren't, that you can be proud that this is such a good program and that the person who does get the scholarship really deserves it.

It's a great thing you guys have going here with this website and all you are trying to do to help students.

Yes...good luck with making the decisions. There are a lot of qualified people out there! Good luck to all the finalists.

Ditto Kat. It really means a lot to us kids when we know that this scholarship is like no other: everyone's a victor. At the end of the day, we all have learned something, and that's really what it takes to be a true winner. By acknowledging that we all have our own personal strengths and that we're one of a kind, I admit that it kinda does detract the sore loser-ness (if you will) from the whole race to the finish. Thanks for realizing our hopes and dreams, and busting your backsides to make them a reality. You seriously rock, hardcore. Kudos to you, not us!

Good luck to all the scholarship finalists, and if you don't win: don't stress! There are other scholarships to look for - the point is to keep working hard, and hope for the best (but expect the worst). Hope my realism ain't too pessimistic.

Mick, I think we have all won in a sense by simply being a part of the Zinch community. Thanks for all the sleepless nights and countless mornings running on red bull. :) I'm sure all the hard work will pay off in the end.

haha, honestly, I've been checking pretty frequently.
I'm excited and worried at the same time. Excited by the rare opportunity, and worried by the odds against us.

I find this is a very important statement
"I hope no one feels bad if they don't win."

...and to that, I also hope that if we don't, we will all be humble enough to accept it, and respect those who did, because that's true good character is all about.

I can't even imagine what a tough job it is to pick just one deserving recipient for your scholarship! Thank you for your dedication, extra hours, and hard work :-)

Once you have had time to recover and catch up on sleep, it would be fun to know some of the facts including how many applicants there were, how many finalists, what percentage need to pay their own way through college ... and most fun fact, once a winner is selected, what made that applicant stand out above and beyond?

I would like to agree completely with Kat. It means so much to all of us that you are taking so much consideration in the process of choosing the winners. Most scholarship organizations out there just skim through the finalists and only give something out as a tax write-off to get more money back in their pockets. With this website I know that everything will be handled according to how deserving we are. Thank you for not letting us be another test score or write-off. Thank you for actually treating us like deserving students. :)

Hey, I just want to say thank you for taking the time out to consider me and others. If I were to say I'm not nervous, I would be lying. I don't know how many finalists there are but I know that "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" I thank you guys so much for this opportunity that you have given us. I am so grateful.

This site is so unique. Ive had so many convos about how scholarships dont look enough at all the extra things people do that contribute to their personalities overall. Whoever made this site is pretty smart and amazing :):). Thanks:)

The wait time is agonizing, but I'm sure it's nowhere near as hard as making the decision! We want you to make the best decision possible, and I am definitely glad you're taking the time to think it through.

I wouldn't want to get passed over because people rushed you through it, and with a 35k tuition, I can't afford to be too picky!

im going insane. i keep checking the site and still no decission, which is fine i totally understand that this is an extremely hard decission. i am just running out of things to do here. which should be hard since there is a 5 yr old in the house and our grandmother is sick. there is only so much to do. im nervous and excited and being pessimistic. cant help it. oh well. not much to do but wait patiently and i totally understand if more time is required. hell its summer, ive got nothing but time.

Finally, we're starting to be recognized as something more than a test score by universities, thanks to this increidibly helpful web site. It's great to see someone taking the time and effort making changes in how the student is viewed.

I just wanted to say I find this truly neat how this Zinch community has grown. I wish I would've discovered this site earlier in my high school days. Don't worry you guys. Take as much time as you need...We know you 'll make the right decision, whomever you choose. I just want to thank y'all for not only developing and taking such a scholarship so seriously but for also creating an invaluable method for students to effectively showcase their talents by giving their work positive exposure they might not otherwise have. I especially appreciate the "zfolio" feature of the site for that reason.
The advice you've given, the site you've created, the movement you've started...it's a wonderful thing, keep it up!

How many winners will be selected?

While we wait we can all enjoy a joke!

Some race horses staying in a stable. One of them starts to boast about his track record. "In the last 15 races, I've won 8 of them!"

Another horse breaks in, "Well in the last 27 races, I've won 19!!"

"Oh that's good, but in the last 36 races, I've won 28!", says another, flicking his tail.

At this point, they notice that a greyhound dog has been sitting there listening. "I don't mean to boast," says the greyhound, "but in my last 90 races, I've won 88 of them!"

The horses are clearly amazed. "Wow!" says one, after a hushed silence. "A talking dog."

I'm a finalist and I must say that the wait is killing me. However I know that the decision is tough on the Zinch.com staff and I know that they will make the right choice.

ZInch has afforded us(scholars) to really represent ourselves as more that test scores and for that I know that we are all extremely grateful. I know that I will be using my zinch.com page to supplement ALL of my college and scholarship applications.

Hey guys! I just wanted (much like the 87 posts above me) to say thank you for this amazing opportunity and for taking the selection so seriously. It really means a lot to be treated as an actual HUMAN BEING rather than an application number or test score. Anyway, good luck with the selection! I'll continue checking every 5 minutes =P

What really amazes me is how positive everyone is about this. Usually the competition for this kind of thing is pretty brutal, which is probably why scholarships don't usually come with forums. But we're all merrily wishing each other luck. Kind of cool.
