Online tutoring? Not sure yet, but would love to hear your thoughts

Kristen from NJ was the third person in as many weeks to ask about Tutor.com and how it compares to other sites like it. The answer? Well, I'm still not completely sure.

I did a bit of research and, after sorting through a pile of blog articles, found this really good story from the New York Times a couple weeks ago.

It talks about a few of the different online tutoring sites that are currently out there, and ultimately claims tutor.com was (or at least seemed to be) the easiest among them.

I think the next step for me is going to be checking out their free trial offer. 25 free minutes is certainly enough to get a feel for it, and I'll be reporting back with my progress. I wonder if they can help me with my Zinch homework...

In the meantime, have any of you tried it or any of the other online tutoring companies? If so, what did you think?

I have heard of their site but have not used it before. I used prepme.com for my sat prep and I had a tutor from u of chicago which was pretty neat. That site worked for me but I think it's only act and sat prep.

A new site that has some kinks that need to be ironed out, but it seems promising . . .

I have been following online tutoring area for quite some time now.
I have tried services of various companies.
One of the companies, that I found, is different from the crowd is
www.24hourstutor.com
They have some interesting features like
1. One mentor for each student
2. Education background check of each tutor
3. Each tutoring session is archived for student's future reference.

As a promotional offer, they are providing 1 hour of Free tutoring.
Check it out.

Hi Jeremy! just wanted to share with you that I have tried one other online tutoring company named Transwebtutors (http://www.transwebtutors.com). I have taken a 45 mins. trial with them, and it was worth it. They started it with a demo cum diagnostic test which allowed me to have a look at how things work there and the level of tutoring they offer, and at the same time the tutor and the academic expert evaluated my current level. In the end I was very much satisfied with the session as well as the comprehensive feedback I got. So I guess my search ends here.. best of luck to you..
