Expressing condolences...
One of our March Madness semifinalists, Brady Schach from West Burlington High School (West Burlington, Iowa), will not be competing in this year's Sweet Diggity Dawg competition. Yesterday morning, two of his high school classmates got in a terrible car accident and both died. One of these students has been a classmate of Brady's since first grade.
Brady sent us an email today indicating that he won't be participating in the competition. He said, "This week will be filled with grief counselors, visitations, and funerals. I attend a small high school and live in a small community. For me to approach my school and community with a 'Vote for Me for a $20,000 Scholarship' campaign when there are two families that will not have the opportunity to send their son and daughter to college would be insensitive."
This is an absolute tragedy. We express our deepest condolences and sympathies to the community of West Burlington. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families and close friends who are suffering from this terrible loss.
