Seizing Sid's Blog: Day I
As most of you might already know, Zinch is a strong supporter of letting students be "more than a test score."
Yesterday, with the Zinch motto in hand, Sid gracefully offered me his Zinch Report blog and, from what I remember (I blacked out from the shock/excitement), he said, "Go ahead, hijack my blog for one week and write whatever you'd like. We want to get a student's perspective." Well, needless to say, I'm still a bit stunned he, nonetheless Zinch, would actually let me do this.
But, hold on a sec, who are you? WHO DARES TO WRITE ON SID'S GLORIOUS BLOG?!
Very nice of you to ask!
My name is Nancy but most people prefer to call me Nance, Nancy Drew, or Tina Fey. I hail from the sunny (and oh-so humid) state of Florida where I live in a very small, barely populated, you can see tumbleweeds blowing in the wind, city of Miami. I'm 17, a rising senior, and I go to an arts high school where I spend most of my days in a cave-like place I like to call my home, the theatre. In my spare time I practice my sarcasm, sing along to Queen songs, and write in just about anything from my school newspaper and yearbook to a student group blog, very much like this one.
For this week, I've got a some things planned including, a list of some of the best college blogs on the Internet, an interview of a current Zinch user (as well as a freshman-to-be at Seattle University) you might have seen prowling through the forums, as well as my own apprehensions about the Common Application. I've also got a few surprises up my sleeve -- from wacky reality television to Youtube videos.
So there you have it, folks. I'll be opening my mind and letting you all peek into it for the next week.
Stayed tuned!
