Welcome Nancy
If you glance to the right one inch and down a few more, you'll notice a new face... yep, that's Nancy, our newest contributor. Her pilot blog was so amusing that we've invited her back for... the next year! (her senior year in high school, I might add)
So I asked Nancy to indulge us by sharing a little about what makes her tick. Please step inside...
Here's five tid-bits about Nancy:
1. I like cheese but I'm very particular about the kinds I like most.
2. My mom is Cuban and my dad is from El Salvador.
3. I'm planning to dress up as a corn dog this upcoming Halloween.
4. I love my dog. She looks like a cute little puff ball but my friend likes to refer to her as "Miami's biggest rat."
5. I wear pajama pants to school.
What tracks would we find in your Ipod? What tracks would you not admit are on your Ipod?
Oh boy, I'm not an Ipod kind of gal. I have a nice big Zune. On my Zune you can find everything from Dolly Parton to Run-DMC. Haha I wouldn't like to admit that I have some of Tom Jones' songs on my Zune but, alas, I just admitted it. :)
What are the local joints one might find Nancy?
During the school year you could probably find me after school at the local Starbucks, in my favorite sushi restaurant, or at a gelato shop (raspberry gelato FTW) which awesomely enough are located just a few blocks away from my school. When I'm out with my middle school friends we usually hit up a nice little restaurant called "The Diner" that has a cool 1950's feel to it.
What can't you live without? Not just the big things (ipod/cell) but the little things?
I've found that I really can't ever live without laughter or any sort of emotion that portrays happiness. I love seeing people in a good mood, with smiles on their faces. I also love those moments in a play or in a movie where the actors just lose themselves in their character and where me, as part of the audience, stop seeing the actor but instead start really believing this person and their situation are truly genuine.
What is something that you "vow to change" at Zinch?
I can't vow to change anything at Zinch because I think they're doing a great job as it is. But, I do vow to try, through my blog, to demystify the college search process and the admissions process. I'm going to try to put a friendlier face on all of it and to let students know there's no need to freak out.
Very nice Nancy. Welcome aboard. I think this will be fun...
