Rankings, rankings, rankings

The Princeton Review recently debuted their famous college ranks with every category you could ever imagine from “Happiest Students” to worst college foods (oh noo)...

I’ve never been a fan of college rankings because I don't always find them to be all that accurate but let me not get into that. The first thing you should know about college rankings is that, by all means, never EVER choose to attend a college solely based on them. Rankings are simply there to give a hint of what a college is like and what their best or worst assets are. Remember, rankings are based on student opinions, at least that's what they say, and what one student may believe is completely terrible might actually be pretty good in your opinion. This year's lists were somewhat expected but there was a good amount of colleges that made #1 in categories I would have never guessed they'd be on or at least that high ranked.

Some that didn't knock my socks off:

*** Harvard has the best library.

(Of course, my friends. Their library has been number one for as long as I could remember!)

*** Students are most dissatisfied with their financial aid at NYU.

(*insert sad face* Unfortunately, I’ve heard about that before..)

*** Everyone attends the athletic games at the University of Florida.

(Definitely. 2006 Double National Champs in Football and Basketball!)

***Yale University has the best college newspaper.

(This brings back memories of Rory Gilmore from the “Gilmore Girls” and the time she was editor-in-chief of The Yale Daily News. Good times, good times.)

Yes, "Rory" is wearing a Yale sweater and drinking coffee from Luke's Diner.

*** American University has the most politically involved student body.

(Well, duh! How could it not be? AU is right in the middle of Washington, D.C!)

Who would have ever thought...:

*** The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has the worst dorms.

(Really? I’ve never heard that before. Woahhh…)

Here’s a picture I found of a dorm building:

The outside doesn’t look too shabby. I couldn’t find any indoor pictures on the University of Louisiana at Layfayette website, which, you know, could be a bad sign? Shame, shame.

*** Loyola College in Maryland has the best dorms.

I hunted down a picture:

Looks like every other dorm I’ve ever seen except these people have carpet (woohoo!), or at least I think that's carpet.

*** Clemson University has the happiest students.

(I’ve never really heard much about Clemson but this is awesome! Keep doin’ what you’re doin’, Clemson!)

*** University of Florida is America’s #1 party school.

(Whatttttttt??! >__< )

These Gators on Facebook are extra proud of the party school honor the Princeton Review has beset on them.

College rankings are like a box chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. :)

Nick Pasko:

I actually visited Loyola College in Maryland. It's one of my favorite schools. Partially because of the dorms. They have some doubles twice the size of my living room. So, I totally agree with that.
